Shallowdale House is a bed and breakfast in Ampleforth, North Yorkshire, on the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park and the Howardian Hills, a few miles from Helmsley and Castle Howard. The house has three guest rooms with king-size or twin beds and en suite bathrooms, and a garden view from the house's hillside position.
The garden itself runs to more than two acres of hillside, with a terrace in front of the house and sloping and terraced lawns above it planted with shrubberies, borders and bulbs. Breakfast is cooked to order, built around dry-cured bacon, local sausages, Craster kippers and home-made preserves, and afternoon tea is offered. The house no longer serves dinner.
