Pinokyo has been running on a roof terrace off İstiklal Caddesi since 2010, up above Büyük Parmakkapı Sokak with the Beyoğlu rooftops around it. It describes itself as a club open to everyone, where gender, orientation and style stop nobody at the door.
By day it works as a café and bar. Later it turns into a small club: drag shows, go-go dancers, zenne performers in the Ottoman male dancing tradition, and DJ sets running house, techno and pop. It puts on Pride-themed parties of its own.
Live Turkish music turns up on the programme alongside the DJ nights, and the terrace and its view are the reason to arrive before the club part starts. Entry is free.
