La Garçonnière is a cabaret club at the bottom of the old town, and it describes itself as the only transformiste cabaret left in Switzerland. Drag and transformiste artists perform live twice a night, resident DJs fill the gaps, and the dancefloor carries on after the second show.
The name goes back to 1975, when the first Garçonnière opened as the country's first transformiste cabaret. That venue closed in 1997. The name was revived in 2008 in the premises of a former gay nightclub on Rue de la Rôtisserie, where it still is.
Dinner shows can be booked, and so can birthdays and private events. The room is red velvet, gold and stage lighting, which is the entire point of it.
