Comeback Bar sits in a vaulted stone cellar under the Rathausgasse in Bern's old town. It opened in 2000 and marked its 25th year in 2025. The bar's own line for itself is "Mann trifft sich", men meet here.
Early in the week it works as a place for an after-work beer and a conversation. At the weekend the volume goes up and DJs take over, with a mix that moves across genres rather than settling on one.
Bern's queer scene is small, and this is the piece of it that runs all week. Reporting on the bar in 2024, the Swiss queer outlet Plattform J called it the only place in the city where gay men and the wider LGBTQ community meet through the week as well as at the weekend.
