Atemlos opened at the start of 2026 and calls itself Malmö's only queer bar. It sits at Bergsgatan 29, in the same building as the culture house Inkonst, a short walk from Triangeln station. The city had gone without a permanent gay bar since its last one shut in 2022.
The room is dark and the music policy is narrow on purpose: the bar says it plays banger hits and nothing else. Weekend nights run to schlager, pop and diva anthems on one and hyperpop, trance and hard groove on another. There is a weekly karaoke club, plus quizzes, theme parties and drag nights. A door charge applies on weekend nights and is waived for anyone arriving in drag or an extreme look.
The house rules are posted and the bar enforces them. It states zero tolerance for transphobia, homophobia, racism, sexism, ableism, harassment and misgendering, and asks guests not to post photos identifying anyone without consent. Allies are welcome if they understand what the space is for. Anyone who needs help can say "Änglashot" at the bar and staff will step in. Entry is 18 and over.
