SLM Göteborg, short for Scandinavian Leather Men, is a non-profit members' club for men who have sex with men and are into leather, fetish and BDSM. The current association was founded in 1994; an earlier SLM existed in the city in the 1970s and went quiet in the 1980s.
The club is run entirely by its members. Volunteers staff the bar and the door on every opening night, and the upkeep of the premises is shared. It belongs to the Nordic and Baltic Top of Europe network and to the European Confederation of Motorcycle Clubs.
The premises are in Kortedala, about 17 minutes by tram from the centre, and there is a dance floor, a dark room, a jacuzzi, showers and a gloryhole. Entry is by membership, which is registered online, and the street address is given once you join. Events carry a dress code, which the club publishes on its own site.
