Komunitné a integračné centrum In is the LGBTI+ community centre run by Iniciatíva Inakosť, on Záhradnícka where it meets Krížna. It opened in early 2025 and is the first permanent space of its kind in Slovakia, set up after years in which the community had nowhere of its own to meet.
The centre does two things. One is counselling: inPoradňa gives psychological, legal and social support to LGBTI+ people and their families, on coming out, discrimination cases, transition and relationships. The other is a public programme that runs most days and costs nothing to walk into. It has included a queer book club, a queer men's circle, knitting evenings, Dungeons and Dragons, Lego nights, karaoke, and a support group for teenagers aged 13 to 18. There is also a recurring open day when you can turn up to work, read or drink coffee without booking anything.
The rooms double as a base for other queer organisations and projects, so a good deal of Slovak queer organising happens here. Security was a real factor in the fit-out and pushed the cost up, which says something about the years it was built in: planning began after the shooting outside the Tepláreň bar.
Trams, trolleybuses and buses stop at Americké námestie and Blumentál, both a short walk away. Street parking on Krížna and Záhradnícka is paid on weekdays.
