Lua Nua is a guesthouse for men on a country estate at Seladas de Cima, near São Teotónio in the Alentejo, a few miles inland from the beaches of the Costa Vicentina. It calls itself an eco-boutique guesthouse made by gay men for gay men, and its own tagline is "a place for men in the middle of nowhere".
The rooms are individually decorated, all en suite, and each has its own terrace. The estate covers about 16 hectares of wild land with a garden and a natural pond. The pool is 14 by 5 metres, salt and UV treated, clothing optional, with a sun deck, loungers and umbrellas.
Breakfast is home-made and served on the veranda, and a few times a week there is a dinner for all the guests together. The house also takes bookings for retreats and private events. Mobile reception on the estate is patchy, but every room has satellite wifi.
