The Portuguese Cock is a ceramics shop on Rua das Oliveiras in the Baixa, a few minutes from the Galerias. It takes the standard Portuguese souvenirs, the Barcelos rooster, the swallow, the saints, and gives them a queer and frequently filthy turn.
Alongside the straight versions there is a line of phallic pieces got up as cartoon characters, artists and leathermen, plus tiles, postcards and figurines. Everything is hand painted, the shop will paint to order, and it posts abroad.
There is also a tile-painting workshop if you would rather make something than buy it.
