Bar of Soap is a queer bar on Rua do Bolhão, run as much as a meeting place as a drinking one. It shuts earlier than the clubs, which is rather the point: it is somewhere you can hear the person opposite you.
The programme leans on games and performance instead of a dance floor. Drag bingo and drag stand-up are regulars, alongside viewing parties, food pop-ups from whoever is cooking that week, and expat meet-ups. DJ sets favour local artists.
The crowd is queer, international and wide in age. It is one of the few places in Porto where turning up on your own is normal rather than awkward.
