Shelter Bar is a bear bar on Rua da Palmeira in Principe Real, on the same short street as Finalmente Club. It calls itself a cosy and friendly bear bar, and the crowd matches: bears, chubs, admirers and a steady core of regulars.
Behind the bar there is a selection of gin, wine and craft beer, and DJs play at weekends. Bear and drag events run through the year, and there is an occasional food buffet with pizza and bruschetta.
The room is small, so it goes from quiet to packed quickly. It is more a talking bar than a dance floor.
