Madere Doce Vida is a two-room guest house halfway up the mountainside above Boaventura, on the green north coast of Madeira, looking out over the valley to the sea. The hosts live in the house and run it themselves.
The two rooms, Buddha and Maya, each have a queen-size bed, a private shower room and a view over the garden to the mountains and the sea. Breakfast is included and served at the table.
The house is painted red with a timber-railed roof terrace, set in a large enclosed garden of lawn, palms and loungers, and there is an above-ground swimming pool. The Levada do Caldeirão walk starts a few steps away, and the hosts help guests plan hikes and excursions around the island.
