About

QLub is a queer community space in Rury, a residential district west of Lublin's centre, and it works as somewhere to sit rather than somewhere to drink. You can make tea, play a board game, or take a table and revise for an exam.

Most of what happens here is support of one kind or another. A support group meets regularly, a psychologist takes individual sessions, and the workshops run from creative to educational to psychoeducational. A choir rehearses in the room. Some evenings are set aside for particular groups, gay men among them, and there is a separate strand for people over thirty. The space was opened for queer teenagers and young adults, but they are not the only ones who use it.

It is one of the city's municipal youth spaces, run by the association that organises Lublin's Equality March, and it has city funding secured to the end of the decade. It took over from an earlier queer youth room in the basement of the contemporary art gallery. Anyone can come in.

There is a step at the entrance, so the space is only partly accessible.
