Piąty Dom is a music club on Matejki with a vegetarian and vegan kitchen, and it is where a good deal of queer Katowice actually happens. It calls itself a club whose heart is the stage, and it works as a meeting space, a workspace, a bar and a kitchen at the same time.
The queer programme runs with a Silesian drag collective and it recurs rather than being an occasional guest slot: a drag and burlesque revue, a queer burlesque show, queer house parties, and a song contest that has run for several editions and fills the room. Regional press in Silesia has covered the larger nights.
The rest of the calendar is live concerts, jam sessions, improvised theatre and literary evenings, so what you walk into depends on the night. The food is plant-based throughout.
