COC Tilburg-Breda is the regional LGBTIQA+ association for Tilburg, Breda and the towns around them, and it has been running since 1981. For a visitor it is the most useful single point of contact in the region, because a good deal of what happens outside the bars happens through it.
It runs seventeen working groups and the meetings are free to attend. They cover a wide spread: a group for autistic queer people, groups for trans and non-binary people in both cities, a fetish social, a group for the over fifties, youth groups, a drag collective and a queer reading circle. Alongside those it puts on film evenings, a walk-in advice point, education in schools and a queer history walk through the city.
Groups meet at venues around Tilburg and Breda rather than at one address, among them a community centre on the NS-plein and one of the gay cafes in the centre. There is no walk-in office at the association's own address, which is a postal one, so that building is open only when something is on.
The association also maintains the queer history of Tilburg and Breda as a standing project, which is the background to the guided walk.
