Elio opened in April 2025 on Van Oldenbarneveltstraat, in the room where the gay bar De Regenboog had stood for twenty-two years. It is run by the people behind FERRY and works as the quieter half of the pair, a place to drink and talk before the club a few streets away gets going.

The shape of the room is a narrow Dutch brown café. Nothing else about it is. Everything is pink: the bar itself is painted hot pink, and the venue claims it is the largest hot-pink bar in the country, with mirrored walls and pale pink stools around it.

Regular nights include drink games and a free drag bingo with rotating queens hosting. The name is a nod to the lead character in Call Me by Your Name.
