The Roze Huis is the community building for LGBTQIA+ people in Nijmegen and the surrounding region, in an old house on Sint Anthoniusplaats with Marcus-Antonius across the square. The foundation behind it says it is the only building in the Netherlands owned and maintained entirely by the community that uses it, and it runs on volunteers.
Three rooms are hired out. The Barzaal takes about fifty people and has a bar; a meeting room takes a dozen and the secretariat takes five. Groups pay a reduced rate for FLINTA events.
COC Regio Nijmegen and Dito have their permanent offices here, and between them fill much of the calendar. The rest is taken by whoever books it, from a trans resource group to political parties and campaign groups. Visitors are welcome at the open evenings the resident organisations run rather than as drop-in guests, so it is worth checking what is on before turning up.
