Café de Halte is a gay café on the Halstraat, a short street in Breda's old centre a few minutes from the Grote Markt. It opened in October 2025 in premises that had housed the city's gay nightlife for decades. The bar calls itself the first gay location in Breda and dates the address to 1967.
Early in the evening it works as an ordinary café. Later it turns into something closer to a small club, with DJs at the weekend and live acts on the bill, drag among them. The interior was rebuilt before the reopening.
It describes itself as an LGBTQIA+ bar with a club vibe, and the crowd runs across ages. Flamingoos and 't Piggenhuis are both a few minutes' walk away.
