Amistad Hotel

The Amistad is the gay hotel of Amsterdam's canal belt, on the Kerkstraat between Leidseplein and the Reguliersdwarsstraat. It is gay owned and run and has been part of the scene rather than adjacent to it for decades.

Rooms run from singles to triples, with or without private facilities, which keeps it within reach of people who are not on a business budget. The building is a canal house, so expect canal house stairs.

The location is the main argument for it. Club Church is under a hundred metres along the same street, the Spijker is at the other end, and Black Body is a few doors up. Reception is not staffed around the clock.
