Pamela is a queer bar and eetcafe in Oud-West, open since January 2020 and started by a queer trio. It describes itself as a queer and BIPOC safe space, and the programming backs that up rather than leaving it as a line on a website.
The kitchen is vegan and runs partly on pop-ups, so the food changes with whoever is cooking. Cocktails, DJs, drag, tarot readers and jam sessions all turn up in the calendar, and parties here are sometimes announced as being for the queer community only.
Jacob van Lennepstraat is a residential street west of the Vondelpark, well outside the Reguliersdwarsstraat and Zeedijk clusters, which is part of why the crowd is more local than touristic.
