The Queen's Head has been on the Zeedijk since April 1998 and is the reliably sociable end of that street, a couple of doors from the water. The back of the bar looks straight out over the canal, which is the detail regulars mention first.
Drag runs through the programme, and the weekly drag bingo is what the bar is known for well beyond its own crowd. There are drag shows alongside it and music that leaves room to talk.
The Zeedijk end of the scene is older and more relaxed than the Reguliersdwarsstraat, and Cafe 't Mandje is a short walk further along the same street.
