Michelangelo is the only dedicated gay nightclub on Malta, and has been for years. It now trades as Michelangelo Playground and sits on Triq Dragunara in Paceville, the St Julian's nightlife strip, in premises that used to hold Le Chandelier.

Two floors, each with its own bar and dance floor, plus a lounge and a private area. The music is pop, house and reggaeton, and the programme runs to drag shows, themed parties, carnival and Pride nights, and men-only nights. Entry includes drinks.

It is small by mainland European standards and the reviews are mixed, but on a weekend this is where the island's gay nightlife ends up. The InterContinental and most of Paceville's hotels are within walking distance.
