Metrò Venezia Club is a men's sauna in Mestre, a few minutes on foot from the Venezia Mestre train station. Venice's historic centre has no gay venues of its own, so what scene the city has sits on the mainland, and this is the one place that is open all year.
Inside there is a Finnish sauna running at two temperatures, a Turkish steam bath, a hydromassage tub and a solarium. The changing room holds more than a hundred lockers with keys and monitored safety boxes, and a towel and slippers come with entry. Massages are given by trained staff. The club lists a cruising zone among its areas, alongside relaxation cabins, a TV room and a smoking area.
The lounge bar has round tables and serves sandwiches, hot dishes, desserts and ice cream, so it works as somewhere to sit for a while rather than only to pass through.
Entry is adults only and needs a valid ARCO membership card, the association the club is affiliated to. The house rules ask for a shower before using the sauna or the hydromassage, forbid walking barefoot, and ban cameras and filming in the sauna and changing areas.
