GarageClub opened in 2006 in Crocetta, a few minutes south of Porta Nuova station. Its full name is GarageClub SpazioUomo and the club is blunt about why: it was built for men, and it would rather be called a space for men than a sauna with a bar attached.

Two levels. The spa side has a Finnish sauna, a high-tech Turkish bath, a hydromassage pool and showers that step up through temperatures, plus massages given by trained volunteer members. The rest is a new maze, relax rooms, a video corner, changing rooms with deposit boxes, a smoking area, wifi and a wide lounge bar with a stage. The kitchen does pizza, farinata, mixed salads, toast and snacks.

Themed nights are the club's own signature: naked and underwear, military, bears, and sexy shows. Membership runs through MSP Italia and you can fill in the form on a first visit. Slippers and sanitised towels come with entry, so there is nothing to pack.

The FAQ is direct about two things. No prostitution, and no drugs on the premises in any form.
