Centralino Club

Clubs in Turin, Italy

About

Centralino has been running under the centre of Turin since 1975, a few steps from Piazza Vittorio Veneto, and it is one of the rooms the city's nightlife was built in. The name comes from the telephones that once stood on every table so guests could ring each other across the club.

A rebuild in 2018 left it with three rooms, each on a different genre. The crowd is young and mixed, students included, and the club calls itself LGBT-friendly rather than a gay club.

The reason it belongs in a queer guide is Bananamia, the gay night it has hosted since the early nineties, one of the longest-running in Italy and still the fixed point of Turin's queer nightlife. Two music rooms, a full floor, drag and guest DJs.

One practical note: visitors report inconsistent experiences at the door and with what a night ends up costing. Worth knowing before you queue.
