Mama Beach

Mama Beach is the serviced end of Torre del Lago's gay beach, at the bottom of Viale Europa where the road stops and the sand begins. It calls itself the first Italian gay beach, and it is run by the same people as Mamamia, a few metres inland.

You get umbrellas, sunbeds, gazebos, showers, changing cabins and toilets, a bar and restaurant on the sand, and courts for beach volleyball and football. There is wifi, parking, wheelchair access, and dogs are allowed. Sunbeds can be booked online.

It sits inside the Migliarino, San Rossore and Massaciuccoli regional park, with the pine forest behind it and sea turtles nesting on the same stretch of coast. The free and naturist sections of the Lecciona start immediately to either side, so people move between the two through the day. At weekends there are DJs and performers on the sand.
