DarkHouse is a private men-only club on the eastern edge of Verona, in San Martino Buon Albergo close to the A4 Verona Est exit. It has been running since 2015 and is built around fetish and BDSM rather than around a dance floor. The club says plainly on its own site that it is not a disco.
The rooms are laid out for use rather than for looking at. There are changing rooms, glory hole cabins, cages and restraint frames, a St Andrew's cross, slings and a pillory, along with a video area and a smoking room. A bar doubles as the social space. The lighting stays low throughout.
Entry is for adult men only and a membership card is required at the door. That is how venues of this kind are set up under Italian law, which treats them as private clubs. The dress code is open but expected to suit the room: dark, fetish, industrial, sportswear, underwear, harness or nothing. Anything too formal is out of place, and feminine clothing is not permitted.
The club is on the first floor of a commercial block with parking nearby, so a car or a taxi is the sensible way to arrive.
