Qube is a large disco in the Portonaccio area east of the centre, on three floors done out in an industrial style. One night a week it is home to Muccassassina, Rome's long running LGBTQIA+ party, which the Circolo di Cultura Omosessuale Mario Mieli has organised since the late 1980s and which has been held here for years after earlier homes at the old Castello cinema, the Palladium and the Alpheus.
Muccassassina is disco, drag and performance: a resident DJ team on the main floor, a pop room, guest DJs, drag shows and themed nights through the season, plus a privé. The crowd is gay, lesbian, trans and queer with straight friends mixed in, and the party is also the official party of Roma Pride. Its proceeds go to the Circolo's work on HIV prevention, support for people living with HIV and civil rights.
On the other nights Qube hosts parties by other promoters for a general crowd. Entry for Muccassassina is by ticket, bought online or at the door, with a drink included.
