Mentelocale is a new queer cultural space in San Lorenzo, the student quarter beside La Sapienza university. It opened in autumn 2026 and describes itself as a queer and inclusive space with a courtyard and a bar, run as a cultural association for inclusion, freedom, culture and against every kind of discrimination.
The programme is a mix of evenings: karaoke, stand-up comedy, DJ sets, aperitivo with a buffet and themed parties such as a queer Halloween night. The association also plans talks and courses on the history of drag, and it says it has an agreement with La Sapienza to open as a study room for students.
Entry is for members only. You need an ARCO membership card, which the association hands out free of charge.
