Classic Club is a gay disco on the edge of Rimini, about ten minutes by car from the Rimini Sud motorway exit. It has been running since 1985 and calls itself one of the first and largest gay clubs in Italy. The main night is Saturday, with resident and guest DJs, a host on the microphone and performers, and on holiday weekends the party carries on into the following day under the name Buongiorno Classic.
The club is a private members' circolo and only admits members aged 18 or over, with ID. Its own card, an ARCI card or an ARCO membership card all get you in, and the club card is issued in person at the door after an optional online pre-registration. ARCO also issues a shorter travel card for visitors from abroad.
Beside the club nights the circolo runs cultural evenings: talks on gay writers and artists such as Oscar Wilde, Thomas Mann and Francis Bacon, a book presentation of stories about love between women, a talk on mental health among gay men and a World AIDS Day evening with HIV testing.
