About this Event
Basilicata's regional Pride marches through Potenza. The parade gathers at the Torre Guevara, runs along via Pretoria, piazza Mario Pagano, Portasalza, via Mazzini, via Angilla Vecchia, via Firenze and via Domenico Savio, and ends at Parco Baden Powell.
The 2026 edition carries the slogan "Tutte le forme dei corpi sono bellissime", all shapes of bodies are beautiful, and the organisers call it an intersectional Pride. Their political statement ties queer rights to something specific to the region: Basilicata is losing its young people, and the march argues that nobody should have to choose between their land and their freedom.
It is put together by a coalition rather than one association, with LGBTQIA+ groups, student organisations, youth forums and people working on civil rights, anti-mafia campaigning and violence against women. The province of Potenza, the city, the regional equal opportunities commission and the regional equality councillor have given it their patronage.
Walking in the parade is free, and associations and movements are invited to join with their own banners.
