Labeerinto Gate48 is a small brewpub on Via San Giacomo, inside the walls of Modena's old town. It pours the beers of the Labeerinto brewery, which has produced in the city since 2016 and runs a second, larger taproom out on Via degli Scarlatti. The list covers lagers and ales, all of it brewed without additives, with a gluten-free selection alongside. Food is pinsa and things to pick at.
The room is narrow and the terrace out front takes most of the seating when the weather allows. Cliche Modena, the city's LGBTQIA+ association, holds its regular queer night here, an evening built around a guest drag performer with dinner beforehand and beer until late. The association calls it its fixed appointment in the centro storico.
On any other night it is a straightforward craft beer pub, and a good one.
