Afterline

Afterline is on Via Sammartini, the street that runs along the flank of Milano Centrale, and it has been there for more than thirty years. It counts as one of the first places in Italy where gay men could meet openly, and it kept the name through a change of ownership in 2017.

It is a disco bar rather than a club: a bar, a dancefloor and a stage, with go-go dancers, themed nights and the occasional Mister competition that the venue has run for decades. The music is pop and commercial, the crowd wide in age.

One detail matters practically. Almost every gay club in Italy requires an association membership card at the door. Afterline does not, so you can simply walk in.
