Aqua Club is the gay sauna of Genoa, in the middle of the old town on a stepped lane off Via XX Settembre. It is the only one in Liguria, and it has been there long enough that the Italian scene press has been printing the same address since the early two thousands.
It works as a sauna and a cruising bar at once: a dry Finnish sauna, a Turkish steam bath, a large jacuzzi, showers, a video room, private cabins, a maze and a darkroom, with a bar in the middle of it.
Entry needs an ARCO membership card, which is the standard Italian arrangement for a private club and can be bought at the door. Arcigay Genova lists it as part of the city's LGBT life, which is unusual for a commercial sauna and says something about how it is regarded locally.
