The Libreria delle donne is an independent bookshop and cultural association on Via San Felice, founded in 1996 by members of the Alta Marea association as somewhere women in the city could meet around books.
The stock is built around gender and feminism read intersectionally, and lesbian and queer writing makes up a large part of it. The shop runs presentations, courses and workshops, and it is used as a venue by the Gender Bender festival.
It is a bookshop rather than a bar or a club. It has been part of Bologna's lesbian and feminist infrastructure for thirty years, though, and the trans movement's own guide to the city lists it among its resources.
