Millennium Bath is a men-only members' club on Via Adriatico, on the north western side of Bari's modern port, and the only gay sauna in the city. It runs over two floors, with a Finnish sauna, a Turkish bath, a whirlpool, showers, changing rooms and a smoking lounge. A terrace opens up in summer.
Entry is by ARCO card, the membership card shared by Italian gay members' clubs, and it can be taken out at the door. Tourists need one as well as the entrance fee.
The club puts its own purpose in associative terms rather than commercial ones: somewhere gay men can relax and meet in a safe environment free of discrimination, and it calls itself one of the most important LGBT associations in Bari. Two themed nights come round every month, one that turns the lights off and adds music and effects, and one aimed at bears, musclebears and the men who like them.
