Basic Instincts has been on Eustace Street in Temple Bar since 1999, a few doors from the Irish Film Institute. It calls itself Ireland's adult and fetish shop for men.
Stock runs to fetish clothing, leather and rubber gear, harnesses, toys and accessories, along with the handmade Venetian masks the shop is known for and which give it its shopfront sign, Mask & Fetish Store.
The shop also puts on kink and fetish events and is a fixture of the Dublin leather scene rather than only a counter to buy things over.
