PantiBar opened on Capel Street in November 2007 and takes its name from the drag persona of the owner. It is one room with the bar down one side and a stage at the back, and it fills up fast.
The programme is drag, cabaret and DJ sets. The crowd mixes regulars, people who came for a show and visitors who read about the place before they arrived. Capel Street is pedestrianised now, so in warm weather the bar spills onto the street.
Pennylane, a two-minute walk away on Strand Street Great, is the same owners' quieter sister bar.
