PantiBar is one of Dublin's most celebrated LGBTQ+ venues, located at 8 Capel Street in the heart of the city. Named after its founder, the iconic drag queen and activist Panti Bliss (Rory O'Neill), the bar opened in 2007 and has since grown into a cornerstone of Ireland's queer social scene.
The bar was founded with a clear purpose: to offer Dublin's LGBTQ+ community a dedicated, intimate space in the tradition of smaller European gay bars, at a time when the city's scene was dominated by larger, more anonymous venues. From the outset, PantiBar set itself apart with a strong identity, warm hospitality, brilliant cocktails, and a packed calendar of entertainment.
Regular offerings include karaoke nights, pub quizzes, and vintage music sets, with the legendary Saturday night shows remaining a firm favourite. These extravaganzas combine drag performance, sharp humour, and glamour in a way that has made PantiBar famous far beyond Dublin's city limits.
Beyond its reputation as a great night out, PantiBar has played a significant role in Irish LGBTQ+ history. During the 2015 Marriage Equality Referendum, the venue became a true community hub, with people gathering there to campaign, celebrate, and share one of the most emotional moments in modern Irish history. The bar's distinctive exterior sign was even granted retention by An Bord PleanΓ‘la on the grounds of its cultural significance.
In 2019, PantiBar expanded with the opening of Pennylane, a sister venue across the street offering a more relaxed gin-bar atmosphere, giving patrons the option to move freely between two complementary spaces.
Whether you are after a perfectly poured Guinness, a glittery drag spectacle, or simply a welcoming place to be yourself, PantiBar delivers on every count.

I had an amazing time here (and I am very shocked by the negative reviews!! π―)
I canβt rate this establishment any higher. It is far superior than The George and Street 66 in my opinion.
Very inclusive, super friendly and professional staff, nice drinks, good vibes, and the music was just AMAZING. Everyone I met here from the bouncers, to the bar staff and the patrons, they were all just so, so friendly and nice.
Love it here, itβs an upbeat place, full of life, and I will go out of my way to visit whenever Iβm in Dublin π
this place is honestly one of my favorite spots in town. the vibe is so welcoming and fun, especially for the lgbt community. the space is super cute and well organized, and the service is amazing. murilo and the whole team always make everyone feel comfortable and taken care of. definitely recommend if you want good music, good drinks and a safe space to just be yourself πππ

Pantibar is hands down one of the best bars in Dublin. I had an amazing experience there such a warm, fun, and welcoming atmosphere.
A special shoutout to the bartender Eduardo. He was incredibly friendly and made the whole experience truly lovely with so much kindness. You can really feel the care and positive energy he brings to the place.
I absolutely love this bar and will definitely be back. Highly recommended! π
Another spot I found during my trip to Dublin where I had so much fun. If you want good cocktails and a great atmosphere, you should definitely give this place a try. Iβm 100% going back next time. Also, the guy at the door was super friendly β sending love to him too.
