About

LINQ Ireland is a resource centre for lesbian, bisexual and queer women, trans and non-binary people included, in a purple-fronted building on White Street in Cork. It describes itself as the only organisation in the country working exclusively with this community.

It started in 1999 as LINC, short for Lesbians in Cork, and took its present name in 2025 to match work that had grown past the city and past the original label. The old name still turns up on some of its accounts and on older listings.

The centre keeps a drop-in space where you can call in for a chat, sit somewhere quiet or read, and where staff will point you towards other services. Around that sit a drama group, a book club, craft workshops, online socials and seasonal events, plus counselling and support for parents and families. The organisation also runs LGBTI+ awareness training for health workers, social workers and colleges.
