Magnum Sauna

Saunas | Cruising | Darkrooms in Budapest, Hungary

About

Magnum Sauna has been at the heart of Budapest's gay scene since 2001, making it one of the longest-running LGBTQ+ venues in the country. Located in the city's 8th district, the sauna occupies two levels and spans around 700 square metres, offering one of the largest dedicated spaces of its kind in Budapest.
The facilities are broad and well developed. Guests have access to multiple sauna options including a Finnish sauna, a bio sauna, a salt room, and an infrared cabin, alongside a steam room, a ten-person jacuzzi, rain showers, and a plunge pool. The venue's cruising areas include a labyrinth and a darkroom, and various cabin types are available throughout. A bar serving hot drinks, soft drinks, and alcohol provides a space to relax and socialise between sessions.
Professional sports and relaxation massage is offered on site by trained masseurs, available daily during set hours. The service is non-sexual and can be booked by phone or in person at reception. Members benefit from reduced massage rates.
Magnum runs a regular programme of themed nights that draw a varied crowd of locals and international visitors. Events include the Dark and Naked Friday, Dark Sunday, UV Party, X-Plore Night, Bear Party, Underwear Party, Wellness Night, and a weekly Aufguss session in the Finnish sauna. The venue also offers a membership scheme that rewards returning guests with discounted entry.
Free WiFi is available throughout the venue. Towels and flip-flops are provided on arrival. The staff are generally English-speaking, which makes the sauna accessible for international visitors.

Magnum Sauna is much better than some negative comments might suggest. From my experience, everything inside is well organized and there is clear order and respect among guests. The staff are polite, professional, and friendly, which really makes a difference.
The sauna is very clean and well maintained, with no unpleasant smells at all — something that is extremely important for a place like this. The crowd is mixed in age, roughly from 18 to 55+, so there is something for everyone, no matter what you’re into.
Drink prices are reasonable and not overpriced, which is a nice bonus. You’ll also notice some very fit, sporty guys around — I personally think some of them might be staff members whose presence definitely raises the energy and excitement in the sauna.
I visited on a Friday, had a great time, and I will definitely come back. All praise for Magnum Sauna.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Relaxing, Clean, and Friendly Sauna with Great Vibes!

We visited Magnum Sauna in Budapest for the first time on a Monday, and we really had a great experience! We had read the rules beforehand and knew that Monday is a mixed day (men and women) – which was absolutely no problem for us. We were also aware that Mondays are usually not too crowded, which actually made it perfect for our first visit to warm up and get comfortable.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we immediately felt welcome. There were also a few really attractive guys around, and we were able to have some fun and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

The whirlpool was pleasantly warm and clean – super comfortable! Overall, the whole place is very tidy, well-maintained, and hygienic – especially compared to the Széchenyi Thermal Bath, which we visited the next day and found much less clean.

Of course, since there were only about 60–70 people there on Monday, the cruising area felt a bit calmer, but that’s totally understandable. I honestly can’t relate to some of the negative comments I’ve read. Magnum is a really nice, friendly, and clean place where you can truly feel at ease.

A little tip: keep an eye on your towel! Mine got taken, and I ended up with a wet one 😅 but I asked the staff for a new one and they gave me one free of charge.

And regarding the price – if you think it’s too expensive, then simply don’t go. For what you get, it’s absolutely fair!

All in all: a great experience – we’ll definitely be coming back!

I was on Sunday in the sauna because the weather was bad. There was a little boy at the counter, very nice, smiling, I liked how he tried to show me on the sheets what was in the sauna. He was attentive and helpful. It can't be easy for him, but he explained and tried it in great English.
The sauna was clean, there were quite a few people. After the Finnish sauna, there was also a big tub of cold water.
Then there was some kind of party in the late afternoon, a lot of people came.
Great place!

Went here twice in January, it did wonders for my sinuses 😁 The facilities were all great, including the steam room, the jacuzzi, the showers, the douching stations, all of the saunas on the second floor, as well as the cruising area. It was a pleasure to share the space with some very nice men. I will definitely want to visit again at some point 🐽
