We went last night to CoXx with very low expectations due to the bad reviews but the place was very nice and so were the bartenders and staff in general. It was full of younger guys and there was a really good energy. Also a very clean cruising area.

On a thrusday night
Arrived 10:00, few people, the barman was friendly.
Since many people complained abt errors on their drinking bills, I was careful to see how many were writen, and I can say that they were honest and I did NOT experience any trouble with my bill.

This is a good place. I def would go back...
I was amazed how good smelling people were here, when one lives in Copenhagen and is used to non deodorant smelly danes this is a good surprise 👍
Had good fun
Easy going crowd

Sunday it seems like a weak day, they should do a promotion day or make it some special party day.
The sunday barman is very good, he plays music accordingly to customers, he is a keeper...

★☆☆☆☆ “Attitude Served Cold”

I decided to give Coxx a try despite the rather mixed reviews — especially the ones mentioning the bar staff’s attitude. I thought, “Maybe those reviewers just had a bad day.” Spoiler: they didn’t.

Upon arrival, I was introduced to a wonderfully overcomplicated system involving a little slip of paper on which every drink, every locker key, and presumably every sin committed in the building gets written down. My bag — containing several valuables — was locked away, and the bartender noted the locker number on my sacred slip of paper.

Four colas later, I was ready to leave. I asked for my bill, paid, and the bartender barked (in what I assume was his best attempt at English): “Give me the key.” Naturally, I assumed he’d fetch my bag. Instead, he tossed the key into a bowl with what looked like 117 other keys.

I pointed out — politely — that my things were still in the locker. Cue eye roll. He trudged over, rummaged through the key pile, and triumphantly handed me a key… that opened a completely empty locker. When I mentioned this, he pointed at my paper slip and insisted, “You got the right key — number 39.”

Unfortunately for him, I could actually see my locker from where I stood — the strap of my bag was sticking out. It was number 35. He’d written it down wrong. Still, he refused to do anything. “I gave you the right key,” he repeated, as if that made it true by repetition.

Only when my Hungarian friend intervened did he reluctantly sort it out. I suggested, quite reasonably, that he might want to write down the correct locker number next time. His answer? “No, you need to take out your bag before giving me the key.” Ah yes — of course! My mistake entirely.

Coxx absolutely lives up to its bad reputation. If this were the last gay bar on Earth, I’d still rather hang out at McDonald’s or Starbucks. The staff there are not only sexier — they actually know how to treat people decently.

I am writing to formally complain about a deeply disturbing incident that occurred during my visit to Coxx Bar in Budapest.

One of your bartenders displayed openly racist and highly disrespectful behavior towards guests. His comments and attitude were offensive and completely unacceptable for a venue that promotes itself as inclusive and LGBT-friendly. What makes this even more serious is that his colleagues witnessed and tacitly confirmed this behavior – no one intervened or addressed it, which shows a lack of professionalism across the staff.

I have attached a video as evidence.

This level of misconduct cannot be ignored. I strongly urge the management to:
1. Investigate this incident immediately
2. Take disciplinary action against the bartender in question
3. Ensure proper training for all staff to prevent racist or discriminatory behavior in the future

Until appropriate action is taken, I will not be recommending Coxx Bar to anyone – and I will not hesitate to share my experience publicly if necessary.

I expect a response from management regarding how this issue will be addressed.
