The Queergarten is the open-air queer beer garden of SCHMIT-Z e.V., set in the Palastgarten between the old town and the Roman baths. It runs as a summer season only, from May to September, and packs up again for the winter.
There is draught beer, cocktails and long drinks, regional wine and cider, fair trade coffee, soft drinks, and food from the kitchen counter: fries, nachos and bowls, with vegan and vegetarian options. Cake appears on Sundays.
The garden is run by the queer centre but is not a members' space. It is open to anyone, and the crowd is a wide mix of ages. There is a programme through the season, including karaoke on Wednesdays and jazz evenings, and it doubles as one of the venues for Pride Trier.
