einraum 2.0 is the last gay bar left in Saarbrücken. The name is literal: the place is one room, with a window front onto Mainzer Straße, a few seating areas and a bar counter. Cocktails are the thing here, and the list changes with whatever theme is running.
The crowd skews young for a German gay bar, roughly 18 to 40, and the room is small enough that people talk to each other. The Saarland queer scene is compact and largely knows itself, which gives the bar a local-regulars feel that visitors get pulled into quickly.
Themed nights carry the programme: Oktoberfest specials, Halloween, fetish evenings. The bar also co-runs the queer party series at two larger music venues in the city, so it works as the place to find out what else is happening.
It sits in the Barviertel around Mainzer Straße, three tram stops from the main station on line 1.
