About

Na Und is the association behind Oldenburg's lesbian and gay centre, in a house on Ziegelhofstraße that began as a butcher's shop and was later a kiosk. The centre opened in June 1994 and has been the working address of organised queer life in the city since.

Behind the pub-cafe at the front are office and group rooms, and that is where most of what the house does actually happens. There is a youth group, a group for young trans and inter adults, self-help and counselling groups for trans and intersex people, a queer reading circle, a peer counselling group and a pup play group. Volunteers from SCHLAU go into local schools to talk about sexual and gender diversity.

The association also puts on the Queer Film Festival Oldenburg each autumn, together with a cinema in the station quarter, and runs the Rosa Disco, its queer dance night, at a venue elsewhere in the city.

The house is run by volunteers and paid for partly out of its own parties and partly by the city. Visitors are welcome.
