Ruhrwellness is a men's sauna in the Styrum district of Mülheim, on Sandstraße near Mülheim-West station. The house holds roughly a thousand square metres of sauna and a garden of about three hundred square metres behind it.
Inside there is a sauna landscape with scheduled infusions, a pool, private cabins, a video room and a solarium. A bar serves drinks and food, and massages are available. Guests are asked to wear a towel in the bar area, and smoking is confined to the garden. The cruising side has lockable cabins, open darkrooms, niches with loungers and slings, and glory holes. Condoms are free at the counter, as are the queer magazines.
Recurring theme evenings include bear nights and one aimed at younger men. Admission is for adults. On its own page about trans and intersex guests the sauna says entry is decided by whether staff at the door read a clothed guest as a man, not by physical characteristics or legal status, that trans men are welcome, and that guests who reject binary categories are accommodated.
The building is not wheelchair accessible, with stairs and narrow doorways throughout. Over two hundred free parking spaces sit outside, and the S3 stops at Mülheim-West, about five minutes away on foot.
