The Schlucke is a small pub in the Renthof, in the lanes below Marburg castle. It describes itself as a centre for conventional, meditative and excessive drinking culture, and the line it prints on its own site is that drinking replaces yoga. Beer on tap, cocktails, a dartboard, a smoking lounge, and not a great deal else.
The queer Stammtisch of Marburg meets here, an open table for LGBTQIA+ people and friends that runs every second week. It is an established fixture rather than a one-off, and for a city with no gay bar it is one of two places where queer people reliably gather over a drink.
The rest of the house runs on its own formats: a quiz night, a music night, a poetry night and a monthly bingo. It takes cash only, which catches people out.
