Xanthippe is a feminist bookshop in the T3 block, founded in 1978 out of the women's movement and still run on the same idea. It calls itself queer and a safe space, and the shop reads that way rather than merely saying it.
The stock is novels, crime and non-fiction, with a standing section on feminism, gender and diversity. The staff advise in person and by name, which is most of the point of a shop like this in a city that has plenty of chain branches.
There are readings, exhibitions and music evenings, and the shop shares events with the Queeres Zentrum and with lesbian groups in the city. It ships books free of charge, so it is also worth knowing about from further away.
