About this Event
The Christopher Street Day in Magdeburg is a demonstration first, and the organisers say so on their own page. The march sets off from Domplatz, passes the state chancellery and loops through the city centre before returning to the square it started from.
The 2026 edition marks thirty years since the first CSD in Saxony-Anhalt. Its motto is "Wähl Liebe - Für Demokratie und Menschlichkeit", a call for democracy and humanity rather than a party slogan.
A city festival on Alter Markt follows the march, with a stage, information stands, food and drink. Around it runs a programme of action weeks with readings, workshops and parties across the city.
Floats and vehicles have to be registered with the organisers beforehand.
