Atlantis is a gay sauna and wellness complex in Rheingönheim, the southernmost district of Ludwigshafen. It has been running since 2002 and calls itself a wellness oasis for gays. The building is laid out for a long stay rather than a quick visit: a heated indoor pool, a Finnish sauna and a bio sauna at different temperatures, a steam labyrinth, a solarium, and a relax area with separate cabins.
Outside there is a naturist garden with loungers and a Japanese garden used in the colder months. A bar and bistro run through the middle of the house, with a fireplace room and video screens beside it.
There is also an SM area with equipment, slings and a mirror cabinet. The house rule is that almost any fetish can be lived out as long as guests take account of each other, and the whole house and garden are open to walk around. Entry is 18 and over. Women and couples come to the mixed party nights the sauna runs alongside its regular days.
The building stands next to the Rheingönheim S-Bahn station and has its own free parking.
